Scotland CAN B
The nationwide programme created in partnership between the government and B Lab UK to promote Scotland’s role in the global movement of business as a force for good.
Since our arrival back in Scotland last September, the Living Alive team have been excited to be involved with a new nationwide programme created in partnership between the government and B Lab UK to join the dots between the vision for Scotland to become a leader in innovation & entrepreneurship, with the growing global movement of using business as a force for good.
Having already started to use the B Impact Assessment tool earlier in 2018 to understand and improve the impact Living Alive has as a business, serendipitous timing meant that we arrived in Forres the same day as the Scotland CAN B team were hosting one of their first introductory Impact Cafes in September, which helped us dig deeper into our assessment.
As an aspiring B Corp, committed to help leaders and organisations catalyse and embed stronger social and environmental values – it quickly became clear that working alongside the Scotland CAN B team as an ecosystem partner was a natural fit.
Since then we’ve attended a Shared Values event at Finisterre in Edinburgh, in collaboration with Social Enterprise Scotland, and Elle joined the BIA Masterclass to further develop her skills with the B Impact Assessment and ability to support other businesses to use the tool.
The wider vision of Scotland CAN B is all about prototyping an innovative model for place-based systems change – harnessing the power of the collective to mobilise systems change towards a fairer and more resilient economy. We’re looking forward to supporting the project as it develops over the coming year.
